Alan Lee’s side got back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory at Hull City last weekend with Albert Wilton netting one and Jack Lankester two.
Meanwhile manager Mick McCarthy says he’s close to deciding which second-year scholars will be offered pro terms for next season.
"Pretty much, I need to have another discussion with the other coaches and then we’ll let them know,” he said.
"It’s horrible, I don’t like that job at all. That’s pretty much telling somebody that they’re not good enough, they’re out of work. "
"It’s just for here, it’s the level that they’re at. I always hope they go on and prove us wrong.”
McCarthy says the situation is the same with the young pros whose contracts are up this summer, although he has confirmed that the one-year option on Kundai Benyu’s current deal will be taken up and that the midfielder, who is enjoying a successful loan spell at Aldershot, will be offered new terms.
Town’s U23s are in action away against Millwall at Dartford FC’s Princes Park on Monday afternoon (KO 1pm).
