U16s Beaten in Hospital Cup - Ipswich Town News

Town’s U16s were beaten 4-1 by Norwich City in this year’s Hospital Cup at Portman Road earlier this evening.

Lounes Foudil put the young Blues in front on 13 but Jaden Thompson-Brissett equalised within a minute.

A Canaries trialist added a second before Thompson-Brissett scored twice more to complete his hat-trick and seal the Norfolk side’s third successive Hospital Cup victory since the trophy was revived.

A pre-season staple at first-team level for many years until 1990, the Hospital Cup returned as an U16s match played between the Blues and Canaries two years ago. All proceeds from the game will go to Town’s academy

U16s: Toby Egan, Idris El Mizouni, Bailey Clements, Kian Ronan, Ashton Henry, Luca Vega, Dylan Crowe, Zak Brown, Thomas Hughes, Lounes Foudil, Ben Knight. Subs: Armando Dobra, Henry Barley, Charlie McCarthy, Alex Henderson, Dylan Ruffles, Matt Wooldridge, Tommy Smith.
