Benyu's Aldershot Reach Play-Offs - Ipswich Town News

Kundai Benyu’s loan side Aldershot beat Braintree 2-0 on Saturday afternoon to confirm their place in the Vanarama National League play-offs and relegate the Essex side.

The Shots, with whom 19-year-old Benyu has been on loan since December, finished fifth in the table and will take on second-placed Tranmere Rovers in the play-off semi-finals.

Aldershot host the first leg at the Recreation Ground on Wednesday with the second match at Prenton Park on Saturday.

Benyu has enjoyed a hugely successful spell with the Shots and Town boss Mick McCarthy has said the club will be taking up a one-year option on his current contract and offering the midfielder, who is yet to make his Blues debut, new terms.
