Kesgrave School Team Representing Town at Wembley - Ipswich Town News

Cedarwood Primary School in Kesgrave will be representing Town in the final of the EFL Kinder+ Sport Kids Cup which precedes this afternoon’s Championship play-off final between Huddersfield and Reading at Wembley. The youngsters will be taking on Etwall Primary wearing the colours of Derby County.

After winning an Ipswich qualifying tournament for the right to represent Town in the six-a-side competition, Cedarwood's U11s travelled to Southall in March for the southern area finals hosted by Brentford where they took on school teams from the 11 other Championship sides based in the south.

They defeated QPR, Wolves, Birmingham and Brighton to top their group, losing only to Cardiff, before defeating Bristol City in the semi-final and then QPR 4-1 in the final to secure their place at Wembley alongside Derby-based school Etwall, who came through the northern qualification process.

The boys played their hearts out, but sadly lost 2-1. Congrats to Derby. Great effort from both teams #proud
