Dozzell Set for England Training Camp - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Andre Dozzell will join up with the England U19 squad for a training camp in Murcia, Spain next week ahead of the European Championships in Georgia in July.

The Young Lions will spend six days in Spain as they prepare for the tournament where they will take on Bulgaria in their opening group game on Monday 3rd July, Holland on Thursday 6th July and Germany on Sunday 9th July with all the matches taking place in Tbilisi. The Germany game will be shown live by Eurosport.

Dozzell, who signed a new Town contract running to the summer of 2020 when he turned 18 last month, was withdrawn from the England U20s squad currently playing at the Toulon Tournament to be called into the U19s for the first time.

The former Copleston High School pupil won nine caps with the England U18s during 2016/17, having been a regular and occasional captain of the U17s a year earlier.

The call-up will mean Dozzell will miss the start of pre-season training with the Blues with the squad due back at Playford Road on June 26th.

Meanwhile, Norwich City have confirmed that former Barnsley midfielder Marley Watkins will join them on a Bosman free transfer on July 1st, signing a three-year deal.

Town had a £1 million offer for the 26-year-old turned down last summer and they were also understood to have shown interest in January.
