McGoldrick a Doubt for Ireland Qualifier - Ipswich Town News

Town striker David McGoldrick is a doubt ahead of the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifier against Austria in Dublin on Sunday.

The 29-year-old, who has won six full caps so far without scoring an international goal, missed training this morning due to a problem behind his knee and Ireland manager Martin O'Neill is waiting on the results of a scan.

"David has had a niggle behind his knee which has come on a little bit,” O'Neill said. "It is niggly and we are a bit concerned about it.”

McGoldrick played the full 90 minutes of Thursday's 3-1 friendly defeat to Mexico in the US but was an unused sub in Sunday's 3-1 home victory over Uruguay.
