McGoldrick Ruled Out of Ireland Qualifier - Ipswich Town News

Blues striker David McGoldrick has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifier against Austria in Dublin on Sunday due to injury.

The 29-year-old, who has won six full caps without scoring an international goal, missed training this morning due to what manager Martin O'Neill described as "a niggle behind his knee" and he subsequently underwent a scan.

The FAI has now announced that McGoldrick will not be involved in Sunday’s match and has left the camp.

The Town frontman played the full 90 minutes of Thursday's 3-1 friendly defeat to Mexico in the US but was an unused sub in Sunday's 3-1 home victory over Uruguay.
