Boots2Africa Donation Event at Martlesham Tournament - Ipswich Town News

Boots2Africa will be holding a preloved football boot donation event at Martlesham Youths’ summer tournament at Suffolk Police Headquarters on Saturday.

Boots2Africa is a small community interest company established in 2016 with the aim of collecting and delivering one million pairs of preloved donated football boots and astros to children and young adults across Sub-Saharan Africa by 2030. They held donation events at Town's home games against Blackburn and Newcastle during 2016/17.

Martlesham are donating a number of old kits to the charity and the other clubs involved in the tournament are being encouraged to bring along unwanted boots and kit.

"In just less than a year just over 1,500 boots have been donated by local children with just short of 1,000 already in or heading to Africa keeping children's feet safe, with kits donated by Town fans on their way too,” Iain Finch, co-founder of Boots2Africa, told TWTD.

"Just last week with our friends at Sal's Shoes we dispatched a shipment of 700 boots and a similar number of items of kit to children in Congo and Zambia.

"We're delighted with the support we've received from the grassroots clubs community across the region, as well as the professional clubs.”
