QPR Latest Club Linked With Celina - Ipswich Town News

QPR are reported to be the latest club to be taking an interest in loaning Manchester City youngster Bersant Celina, who Town, Bolton Wanderers and Leeds are also targeting.

According to Get West London, the West Londoners are keen on the 20-year-old Kosovo international, however, as previously reported, Bolton Wanderers remain the favourites to land the highly-rated winger having already held talks with him and given him a tour of the Macron Stadium.

Speaking after playing for Kosovo’s U21s in Monday’s 5-0 defeat in Norway - the country where he lived from the age of two - Celina said he will probably spend the season with Wanderers.

"Most likely, Bolton,” he told Dagbladet. "It’s a much better and tougher league than the Dutch league, with established talent, who are not afraid to be sitting on the bench.”

Celina, who joined Manchester City from Norwegian club Strømsgodset as a 15-year-old, spent 2016/17 on loan with Dutch side FC Twente, scoring five times and picking up five assists in 27 appearances. Twente are said to keen for him to return next season.

Capped six times by Kosovo at full level, scoring once, Prizren-born Celina has made one Premier League sub appearance for City - the final five minutes of a January 2016 3-0 win at Norwich - in addition to two starts and one game from the bench in the FA Cup.
