Town Reward Early Bird Season Ticket Holders - Ipswich Town News

Town are to reward season ticket holders who renewed their seats before the initial April 17th early bird deadline with £10 which can be spent on tickets or other goods from Planet Blue or ITFC Direct.

As previously reported, season tickets can still be purchased at the pre-deadline prices which the club has confirmed will remain the case until midnight on August 4th, the day before the 2017/18 season kicks off.

As a result, Town have made the decision to reward those who renewed prior to the deadline with the £10 added to their season ticket cards.

"I want to thank all the supporters who have committed - and will commit - to a season ticket for next season, but having extended the early bird prices, we feel it is right to reward those fans who purchased a season ticket before the deadline,” MD Ian Milne told the club site.

Town say there is no minimum spend, if £5 is paid out in one transaction, the remaining £5 will remain on the card for a future purchase.

In March, fans reacted angrily to the announcement of an increase of 1.5 per cent on the adult season ticket price as well as other unpopular moves and numbers dropped more than 2,000 to below 10,000 for the first time since the late 1990s, a reduction in income of around £1 million.

Earlier this month, the Blues announced a reduction in matchday ticket prices ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, Rotherham striker Danny Ward's long-expected £1.6 million move to Cardiff City has been confirmed.

The Blues made a bid for the 26-year-old in January and according to the Sheffield Star made a "substantial offer" during this window, however, even if that was the case it's unlikely Town continued to pursue their interest once Joe Garner's signing from Rangers, which was confirmed a week ago, had been lined up.
