Dozzell Confirmed in England U19s Squad for Euros - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Andre Dozzell has been confirmed in the England U19s squad for the European Championships in Georgia which start on Sunday.

Dozzell was initially named in the England U20s squad playing at the Toulon Tournament earlier this month but was withdrawn so he could play for the U19s in what is a more prestigious competition.

The Young Lions will take on Bulgaria in their opening group game next Monday, Holland on Thursday 6th July and Germany on Sunday 9th July with all the matches taking place in Tbilisi. Their final group game will be shown live by Eurosport.

Dozzell, who signed a new contract running to the summer of 2020 when he turned 18 in May, is yet to win an U19 cap.

The former Copleston High School pupil won nine caps with the England U18s during 2016/17, having been a regular starter and occasional captain of the U17s a year earlier.

England U19s: Aaron Ramsdale (AFC Bournemouth), Nathan Trott (West Ham United), Trevoh Chalobah (Chelsea), Jay Dasilva (Chelsea), Darnell Johnson (Leicester City), Easah Suliman (Aston Villa), Reece James (Chelsea), Josh Dasilva (Arsenal), Andre Dozzell (Ipswich Town), Tayo Edun (Fulham), Jacob Maddox (Chelsea), Mason Mount (Chelsea), Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham), Dujon Sterling (Chelsea), Ben Brereton (Nottingham Forest), Isaac Buckley-Ricketts (Manchester City), Marcus Edwards (Tottenham Hotspur), Lukas Nmecha (Manchester City).
