Andre Dozzell could win his first England U19s cap this afternoon when the Young Lions get their European Championships campaign under way with a game against Bulgaria in Tbilisi.
Midfielder Dozzell was initially named in the England U20s squad playing at the Toulon Tournament last month but was withdrawn so he could play for the U19s in what is a more prestigious competition.
Following today’s group opener, the England youngsters face Holland on Thursday and Germany next Sunday, a match which is being shown live by Eurosport.
Dozzell, who signed a new contract running to the summer of 2020 when he turned 18 in May, won nine caps with the England U18s during 2016/17, having been a regular starter and occasional captain of the U17s a year earlier.
