Rotherham Boss Confirms Interest in Town Duo - Ipswich Town News

Rotherham boss Paul Warne has confirmed his interest in taking Blues duo Kieffer Moore and Josh Emmanuel on loan. TWTD revealed that the Millers are keen on the Town pair late last month.

"There are still possibilities there,” Warne told the Sheffield Star. "There are possibilities with a few players and they are certainly two of them.”

Moore and Emmanuel are currently with the Town squad at their Irish training camp at the Carton House Hotel in Co Kildare.

As reported yesterday, Rotherham, who were relegated to League One at the end of last season, aren’t the only club interested in 24-year-old Moore.

Plymouth, Stevenage, Port Vale and Partick Thistle are among the other clubs eyeing a move for the former Forest Green Rovers man.

Meanwhile, free agent ex-Blue Liam Trotter, 28, has failed to win a contract with the Millers having spent time training with them over the last week having left Bolton Wanderers.

Elsewhere, Norwich City are reported to have made contact with Newcastle United regarding former Town striker Daryl Murphy.

According to the Northern Echo, the Canaries have made an enquiry about the 34-year-old, who has been told he can move on this summer.

The Magpies are said to be keen to recoup the £3 million they paid the Blues for the Ireland international last summer, while Norwich are claimed to want any potential deal to include a number of clauses. TWTD understands Middlesbrough are keen to sign Murphy.

Ex-Town skipper Jon Walters is close to moving from Stoke City to Burnley in a £3 million deal. The 33-year-old left the Blues for the Potters in 2010 for a fee which eventually rose to £3.25 million.

Former Blues loanee Richard Stearman, 29, has joined Sheffield United from Fulham for an undisclosed fee signing a three-year deal.

One-time Town target Jordan Hugill is reported to be interesting Birmingham City and Sunderland, who are managed by Simon Grayson, until recently was the 25-year-old’s boss at Preston.

The Blues made a number of bids for Hugill in January when the Lilywhites were unwilling to sell, but having signed Joe Garner from Rangers last month seem unlikely to pursue their interest in the ex-Port Vale man during this window.
