Goals from Joe Garner (2), Freddie Sears and Conor McKendry saw the Blues to a 4-1 victory over Southend United in a behind closed doors friendly at Playford Road this afternoon.
As at Drogheda on Saturday, boss Mick McCarthy fielded a different XI in each half of the match.
Tommy Smith and Monty Patterson, who had been given additional time off having recently been on international duty with New Zealand, were both involved, as was Kevin Bru, who missed last week's training camp in Ireland after being injured and is available for transfer.
Garner, who netted Town’s final goal in the 5-0 win in Ireland, his first for the club since joining from Rangers last month, scored his brace before the break before Dru Yearwood pulled a goal back for the Shrimpers to make it 2-1 at half-time.
Sears, who netted twice against Drogs, and McKendry were on target in the second half.
The Blues are next in action at Peterborough United next Tuesday when they will play two games of 60 minutes against Posh, the first starting at 7pm.
