Blues midfielder Andre Dozzell was an unused sub as England’s U19s made it through to the final of the European Championships after defeating the Czech Republic 1-0 via a late, late goal in Tbilisi this evening.
Dozzell suffered a hip injury in Sunday’s 4-1 thrashing of Germany having started all three group games, but was fit enough to be included among the subs for today’s game in which the Young Lions claimed victory in the third minute of injury time via Manchester City’s Lukas Nmecha deft flick.

The 18-year-old Town academy product may well be considered ready for a return to the XI for Saturday’s final when the England youngsters will take on Portugal, who beat Holland 1-0 in the other semi-final this afternoon, in Gori (Eurosport 1, 5pm).
