Celina in Starting XI at Peterborough But Bialkowski Misses Out - Ipswich Town News

Town’s team for the first hour of tonight’s 120-minute friendly at Peterborough United sees on-loan Manchester City man Bersant Celina make his first appearance in a Town shirt. (KO 7pm).

Also starting are skipper Luke Chambers, who missed the game at Drogheda having had his tonsils out, and striker David McGoldrick, who was given an extended break following Ireland duty earlier in the summer.

Missing from the squad is keeper Bartosz Bialkowski, who is ill with a stomach bug, as has been Tom Adeyemi.

Emyr Huws, who has only just returned to training, and Andre Dozzell, who was with the England U19s until earlier this week, and Adam Webster, who has had an ankle problem.

Dominic Iorfa will make his first appearance in a Town shirt - with the red away strip getting an outing for the first time - in the second hour.

The match will be played in four periods of half an hour with a five-minute break between the first two quarters.

Both clubs plan to change their XIs in their entirety at the midway point when there will be a break of half an hour with the second 60 minutes expected to end at around 9.35pm.

First hour XI: Gerken, Spence, Chambers, Knudsen, Nydam, Rowe, Bru, Downes, Celina, Garner, McGoldrick.

Second hour XI: Crowe, T Smith, Kenlock, Iorfa, C Smith, Skuse, McKendry, Bishop, Ward, Sears, Morris. Subs: Fowler, Folami, Daniels, McGavin, McLoughlin, Patterson, McDonnell.
