Town Pay Tribute to Linkin Park Singer - Ipswich Town News

Town have sent their condolences to the family and friends of Linkin Park singer and Blues supporter Chester Bennington, who has died aged 41.

The Arizona-born frontman began following Town as a teenager after his father, Lee, started supporting the Blues while spending time in Suffolk in the early 1990s.

Bennington is understood to have subsequently kept in touch with Town's fortunes via the Internet and at one time was reported to be keen to play a concert at Portman Road.

Arguably the most high profile Town fan. So sad to learn of the news, everyone at #itfc passes on best wishes to Chester's family & friends https://t.co/XlRSuExp04

He was found dead earlier today at his home at Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County and is understood to have hanged himself.
