Young Blues striker Declan Daniels has joined Bostik League Premier Division Lowestoft Town on loan.
The 18-year-old joined the Town youth set-up on a two-year scholarship last summer after a trial at the end of the 2015/16 season.
Kirkby-born Daniels was previously with Robbie Fowler’s Merseyside-based Fowler Education and Football Academy and Knowsley Youth, having been a schoolboy at Everton.
"We're delighted to take Declan on loan, I feel that he gives us another option up front and he's scored lots of goals for the U23s at Ipswich,” said Trawlerboys boss Ady Gallagher, who has also added 33-year-old former Fulham and Derby defender Dean Leacock to his squad.
"This will be a great learning curve for him, as with boys like Nico Cotton, this level toughens you up and makes you stronger. I think it's going to be a great experience for him and it's another solid, young addition for us.
"We appreciate Ipswich thinking of us when they were trying to get the lad out on loan and we have always had a good relationship with Ipswich in the past and I'm sure Declan will have a great time.
"He's trained with us and looks in good shape so we're pleased about that. I did speak to [former Blues academy and current Lowestoft defender] Travis [Cole] and he spoke really highly of him so he's a good character and at a good age to come here and we're hopeful that everyone will benefit from this move."
