McCarthy Surprised Bru Yet to Find a Club - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Mick McCarthy says he’s surprised Kevin Bru is yet to find a club, reiterating that the Mauritius international remains firmly out of his plans despite the current dearth of fit midfielders.

Bru, 28, who was told he could move on if he could find a club in May, has said he is considering options from clubs in France and elsewhere.

"There’s no point me going back to Kev,” McCarthy said. "Kev’s great, comes in and trains. He wants to leave now, we’re trying to help him to leave.

"With Tom Adeyemi, Emyr Huws, forgetting about the youngsters for a minute, Skusey, Teddy Bishop, hopefully he’ll get fit, we’ve got a really solid midfield.

"And the two young ‘uns have just given everybody something to think about, Tristan Nydam and Flynn Downes.

"So it’s time for him to go and find something else. He knows that, he’ll get something I’m sure. I’m surprised he hasn’t, to be honest.”

Paris-born Bru, who qualifies for Mauritius via his parents, made 59 starts and 35 sub appearances for the Blues, scoring four goals.
