U18s Face Forest in Season Opener - Ipswich Town News

Town’s U18s get their Professional Development League Two South campaign under way on Saturday morning when they take on Nottingham Forest at Playford Road (KO 11am).

The young Blues were in good form in pre-season, defeating Southwold 2-0 in their traditional first friendly, Grimsby 4-0 and Norwich City 2-0.

Midfielder Ellis Murrell, who is going into his second year as a scholar, is back in training after five months out with a knee injury. The Kirton-based youngster won’t be involved against Forest but isn't far off a return to match action.

Meanwhile, the U15s are in action at the Hibernia Trophy, which is being hosted by St Joseph’s Boys at Pearse Park, Sallynoggin in Co Dublin.

The young Blues face a France Development Squad in their opening group game this evening, then Leicester City, the hosts and Leeds United tomorrow with play-off matches on Sunday.
