Blues youngster Conor McKendry could win his first Northern Ireland U21s cap in a European Championships qualifier against Albania at Mourneview Park in Lurgan this evening (KO 7.30pm).
It’s the first time the 18-year-old midfielder has been named an U21 squad having previously won caps at U16 and U17 levels.
Carnlough-born McKendry, who is yet to make his senior debut for the Blues, featured for the Town first team throughout pre-season and was an unused sub during last Tuesday’s Carabao Cup defeat at Crystal Palace.
The academy product signed his first pro deal with the Blues in June.
The Northern Irish youngsters, who are currently top of their group having won their opening game 2-1 in Estonia in June, subsequently face Slovakia away in Senica on Tuesday.
