Striker David McGoldrick is still to join up with the Republic of Ireland squad ahead of Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Georgia in Tbilisi and could now miss the trip.
The Irish party assembled in Dublin on Monday but McGoldrick was given additional time off to be with his wife, who is close to giving birth to their fourth child.
The 29-year-old was expected to link-up with the squad on Tuesday but was still to do so yesterday and may now not travel to Georgia.
Ireland, who are currently second in their group and unbeaten having won three and drawn three of their six qualifiers, subsequently face Serbia in Dublin on Tuesday.
McGoldrick has previously won six full caps so far without scoring an international goal. Also in the squad are ex-Blues Daryl Murphy, Jon Walters and Conor Hourihane.
