Youngster Smith Joins Chelmsford on Loan - Ipswich Town News
Young Blues central defender Chris Smith has joined Vanarama National League South side Chelmsford City on a month’s loan.
Academy product Smith made his senior debut for the Blues as a late sub in the Carabao Cup defeat at Crystal Palace last month.
The 19-year-old, who spent time on trial at Bromley in pre-season, signed a one-year deal with an option for a further season in the summer of 2016 with the Blues taking up that option in May.
Former Kesgrave High School pupil Smith could make his Clarets debut at Poole Town at the weekend.
