Blues and Wigan Linked With Ex-Bolton Midfielder - Ipswich Town News

Town and Wigan Athletic are claimed to be keen on free agent former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Jay Spearing.

The 28-year-old is a free agent having left the Trotters at the end of last season and has recently been training with League One Blackpool.

According to The Sun on Sunday, Blues boss Mick McCarthy is considering a move for the one-time Liverpool trainee, while the League One Latics are also eyeing the former Leicester and Blackburn loan player.

Town targeting another central midfielder would be a surprise with that area of the squad appearing well covered with McCarthy expecting Emyr Huws (achilles) and Teddy Bishop (groin) to be back from injury after the next international break.
