Patterson in All Whites Squad for Japan Friendly - Ipswich Town News
Blues youngster Monty Patterson has been named in the New Zealand squad for their friendly against Japan in Nagoya next month.
The Friday 6th October game is part of the All Whites’ preparations for November’s World Cup intercontinental play-off against the fifth-placed side in the South American qualifying group, currently Argentina.
The winners of the two legged tie will qualify for next summer’s finals in Russia.
Striker or midfielder Patterson, 20, has previously won 15 full caps, scoring one international goal.
Town defender Tommy Smith wasn’t considered for the squad as he is still sidelined with a hamstring injury, while ex-Blues loanee Chris Wood is included.
