On-Loan Striker Moore Nets 13th of Season - Ipswich Town News

On-loan Town striker Kieffer Moore netted his 13th goal of the season in the sixth minute of injury time as Rotherham United claimed a last-gasp 1-1 draw at Doncaster Rovers in League One at lunchtime.

The 25-year-old, who has made 16 league starts and one sub appearance for the Millers this season, remains the top scorer in the top four divisions in England and looks set to have his spell with the South Yorkshiremen cut short by the Blues in January.

Speaking a fortnight ago, Town boss Mick McCarthy said: "The intention was to send him out to see whether he could get games and score goals and then we’d take a view on it. And that’s still the same.

"But, of course, the more he’s scoring goals, the view is that he’s more likely to come back here at Christmas and see whether he can replicate it in the Championship. And that’s my intention, that’s always been my intention.”

In the League One scoring charts Moore continues to lead former Blues Brett Pitman, who later on Saturday afternoon took his total to 11, scoring twice as Portsmouth won 3-2 at Blackpool, and Jack Marriott, who has netted 10 times for Peterborough following his summer switch from Luton.

Fellow Blue Josh Emmanuel started for the Millers at right-back before being subbed in the 74th minute in favour of striker Jonson Clarke-Harris as Rotherham looked for an equaliser, skipper Richard Wood’s own goal having given Doncaster the lead in the 62nd minute.
