Burley Won't Sell Holland - Ipswich Town News
George Burley says that he will not be selling Town skipper Matt Holland. The papers this weekend claimed Matt was a target of Charlton, Manchester City and Everton, however the Town manager says this was all speculation.
Burley said: "Matt is our captain and he is the player we want to build the side around. There is always going to be speculation but people are just guessing."
The Town boss, along with exiting coach Bryan Hamilton, was on a coaching course last week and says Charlton boss Alan Curbishley, who was also present, made no mention of an interest in the Town captain.
The papers claimed that the Addicks were to put in a £4 million bid for Holland, while Manchester City and Everton were said to be willing to bid £6 million. Both these figures are a long way below Town's valuation of the Irish international.
