On-Loan Striker Moore Red-Carded as Rotherham Lose - Ipswich Town News

On-loan Blues striker Kieffer Moore was red-carded as Rotherham were beaten 2-1 at Bristol Rovers in League One.

Moore, 25, the joint-top scorer in the top four English divisions, was dismissed in the 79th minute when he clashed with Rovers’ defender Lee Brown, who went to ground.

Blues right-back Josh Emmanuel, who is also on loan at the New York Stadium, was not in the 18.

Town boss Mick McCarthy has said he’ll cut Moore’s loan spell short when the transfer window opens and bring him back to Portman Road, unless the Blues receive a "bonkers offer” for the £20,000 January signing from Forest Green Rovers.

As he is facing a three-match ban as a result of today's ordering-off, Torquay-born Moore would play only two more games for the Millers if McCarthy recalls him as soon as the January window opens.

Elsewhere, George Fowler played the full 90 minutes as Aldershot drew 0-0 at Torquay United in the Vanarama National League. As a result, the Shots dropped from top to fourth.

Fellow Blue Adam McDonnell, who along with Fowler extended his spell with the Hampshire side into a fourth month yesterday, missed the game as he was suspended having been sent off during Tuesday’s 2-0 win at Bromley.

Blues defender Chris Smith was in the Chelmsford City side which drew 1-1 at home to Hungerford Town in the National League South.

Keeper Harry Wright kept a clean sheet as East Thurrock United won 3-0 at Welling United in the National League South.

Another young Blues keeper, Nick Hayes, was in the Dunstable Town team which lost 1-0 at Hitchin in the Evo-Stik League Southern Division.
