Former Blues and England midfielder Kieron Dyer is launching his autobiography Old Too Soon, Smart Too Late at an event at Portman Road on Friday 23rd February.
Dyer’s long-awaited book relates how a generation of talented English footballers, taken out of working class childhoods and presented with a world of glitz, glamour, wealth and temptation, failed to cope with the riches that were presented to them, and often fell apart.
Old Too Soon, Smart Too Late was written with national journalist Oliver Holt, who will be at the launch which will raise money for charity and the Town academy where Dyer, 38, now coaches the U16s.
Also present will be two of Dyer’s Newcastle United team-mates, Jermaine Jenas and Craig Bellamy, while his friend and fellow former Town midfielder Simon Milton will be hosting.
Tickets to the launch, which include a signed copy of the book, are priced at £65 plus VAT per person via ITFC Direct. Old Too Soon, Smart Too Late is available for pre-order here.
