Town Confirm Friendlies - Ipswich Town News

Town have confirmed their pre-season friendly programme for 2002/03. As well as the Bristol games and the Brentford match, Town face Nationwide Conference side Barnet. The Danish fixtures see Thomas Gaardsøe meet his old club AaB Aalborg, as well as Farum Boldklub.

Contrary to claims on Finnish club IFK Mariehamn's website, the Blues will meet AaB Aalborg on July 16th while the Farum game is two days later.

Former Town striker Chris Kiwomya spent time at AaB with Gaardsøe but is not longer at the club. Last we heard he was planning a return to Malaysian football.

Town are likely to come up against some familiar faces when they face Barnet with both Neil Midgely and Stuart Niven leaving Portman Road for Underhill.

As usual Town will play one home fxture, the week prior to the new season's start. Traditionally this has been against a continental side, often Dutch.

16th July AaB Aalborg A KO 6pm
18th July Farum Boldklub A KO 7pm
24th July Bristol Rovers A KO 7.45pm
27th July Bristol City A KO 3pm
29th July Barnet A KO 7.45pm
31st July Brentford A KO 7.45pm
3rd August TBC H KO 3pm
