U18s Win at Everton in FA Youth Cup - Ipswich Town News
Second-half goals from Ross Marshall (pictured) and Idris El Mizouni saw Town’s U18s to a 2-1 FA Youth Cup third round victory over Everton at Goodison Park.
Defender Marshall headed Alan Lee’s side in front in the 47th minute with El Mizouni adding the second with a low 20-yard drive on 65.
The home side pulled a goal back through Korede Adedoyin a minute after the Frenchman’s strike but the young Blues clung on to claim the win and a home tie against either Oxford United or Dagenham and Redbridge in round four.
The victory is a notable scalp for the young Blues with Everton flying high in second in the U18 Premier League North, while Town are eighth in the Professional Development League Two South.
Town have carried off the trophy on three occasions, in 1973, 1975 and 2005.
