Change Shirts for Charity - Ipswich Town News

Town fan Barry Calver is urging supporters to don the yellow of Norwich in a bid to help charity. Barry, who instigated the TWTD Postcards to Delia campaign ahead of the Milan trip, says he couldn't think of a greater sacrifice than wearing the sickly hue beloved of Town's feathered rivals.

Felixstowe-based Barry told TWTD: "The idea came from Sport Relief (http://www.sportrelief.com), the charity which is helping to raise money for children and young people in the UK and around the world through sport.

"I was thinking of ideas to raise money like walking from Felixstowe to Ipswich or bungee-jumping off the Orwell Bridge.

"Then I thought, what could be worse then wearing a Norwich shirt for one day (and one day only)? I am trying to get as many Ipswich and Norwich supporters to wear rival shirts for one day only (Friday 12th July) to raise money for a worthwhile cause.

"I'm sure family, friends and workmates would make a donation just to see you wearing a shirt you wouldn't even wash your car with.

"We all know about the East Anglian rivalry (me more then most, I'm involved with controlling engineers in the Norwich area) but perhaps for one day we can both help to raise some money for a charity that needs our help."
