Midfielder Andre Dozzell has thanked Town physios Matt Byard and Alex Chapman for their efforts as he continues his recovery from the ruptured cruciate knee ligament he suffered on the opening day of the season against Birmingham City. The 18-year-old is expected to miss the rest of the season.
"The physios have been unbelievable,” England U19 international Dozzell told the club site. "I have to thank them for all the time and effort they’ve given me.
"They set me goals and know exactly what I should be doing to prevent any injuries during rehab. I listen to them as they’re the experts and right now my recovery is going well.
"We aren’t looking too far ahead so there is no return date set yet but we’re definitely going in the right direction.”
Speaking about Dozzell last Friday, manager Mick McCarthy said: "May or June, that’s when he’s going to be back. But I’ve just seen him, he tells me he’s had a scan today and he’s recovering particularly well, he’s pleased with his rehab and recovery.
"But until he actually puts his boots on in May that’s when we’ll find out how good it’s been. But everything’s been a success, the op, and he’s recovering, it’s fine.”
