Brown Gives Up on Hornets - Ipswich Town News
Town defender Wayne Brown says he has all but given up on Watford taking him to Vicarage Road permanently. The 24-year-old enjoyed an excellent spell at Gianluca Vialli's club towards the end of last season and was keen to join full-time.
At that time Watford were keen to make him a permanent member of their staff, however George Burley took him back to Portman Road as cover during Town's run-in.
Brown has told Burley that he wants to move from Portman Road after hardly being given a look-in over the last two years. However, he now sees a move to Watford as unlikely: "I'm not counting on them to come back in for me anymore.
"They are having trouble getting rid of players on the transfer list and money's tight at the moment."
Burley has said he'll consider offers for Brown if they come in.
