McCarthy: Bart Far From Only Keeper Linked With Palace - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Mick McCarthy has played down weekend reports linking Crystal Palace with Blues keeper Bartosz Bialkowski, pointing out that the Pole is far from the only number one to have been mentioned in connection with the Eagles.

A report on Sunday claimed the Premier League side were running the rule over the 30-year-old, who is contracted to the Blues until the end of the season with the club having an option for a further year.

"I know [there was a story linking Palace with Bialkowski], but everybody knows Crystal Palace are looking for a goalkeeper,” McCarthy said when asked about the link.

"And I think they’ve looked in the Championship. I saw Alex Smithies got a mention at QPR, and there are loads of them being mentioned.

"I don’t know, they’ll be doing their due diligence on all the goalkeepers. All everybody knows is that Bart is a really top Championship keeper.

"But they might be looking for somebody who has got Premier League experience. I don’t know. I’m not picking and choosing their team.”
