Fowler Extends Aldershot Loan - Ipswich Town News

Blues defender George Fowler has extended his loan with Aldershot into a fifth month.

Fowler, 20, has made 16 starts and one appearance for the Shots since joining them at the end of August. His latest spell runs until Saturday 3rd February.

Former Debenham High School pupil Fowler came through the Town academy and has made his first and so far only appearance for the Blues' first team at Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup in August.

Midfielder James Blanchfield, 20, who joined Aldershot on an initial month's loan at the end of last week, made his senior debut as a sub in the 72nd minute of New Year’s Day’s 2-1 win at Woking.

Meanwhile, Town continue to be linked with a loan move for Jack Colback, who is out of favour at Newcastle.

As reported at the weekend, Colback, 28, who was previously on loan with the Blues in 2009/10 and 2010/11, was at Saturday’s game against Derby as a guest of Martyn Waghorn, who he played alongside as a youngster at Sunderland.

However, with his wages understood to be in the region of £40,000 a week, another spell with the Blues appears hugely unlikely.
