Fans Face Move - Ipswich Town News
Town season ticket holders in Cobbold sections A and B face moves next season for home cup games. FA regulations state that away fans must be given 15% of a ground's capacity for cup games, compared with 10% in the league.
With Town's capacity grown to just over 30,000, the away allocation for league matches is now 3,000. As well as the V1 and V2 sections in the Cobbold Stand away fans will in future use an area of the Greene King lower tier.
For games in both the FA and League Cup away fans will get 4,500 seats, hence the need for the move.
Season ticket holders received a letter from the club outlining their switch and will be offered seats in other areas of the ground, however pre-payment for cup games will not be available to them.
