Jermaine Gears Up For Decision - Ipswich Town News

Jermaine Wright will today decide whether he will join Town or Forest. Wright has said that he was impressed with what he heard from Town when he spoke to Burley and Sheepshanks at St Albans on Monday, but was in talks with Forest yesterday.

Town fans may remember the midfielder from the home defeat against Crewe last season as he was sent off for a second yellow card after a foul on Kieron Dyer. He is highly rated by Crewe fans and is only available at the bargain price of £500,000 as he has refused to sign a new contract and will be available on a Bosman at the end of the coming season.

With Town's failure to gain the signature of Martin Smith it would be a huge disappointment for Town to miss out on another player clearly near the top of George Burley's hitlist. Today's papers mention Lee Briscoe of Sheffield Wednesday once more, although with little new information. Nothing so far on the experienced striker Burley has said he is after.

The pre-season injuries keep mounting up. Joining Holland (ankle), Bramble (ankle) and Magilton (thigh), are Johnson, Thetis and Holster. All are thought to be minor problems.
