Town 3-0 Port Vale - Ipswich Town News
Town easily beat relegation favourites Port Vale with goals from James Scowcroft, David Johnson and Matt Holland. However, the result was tainted for many fans by the collapse and apparent death of a supporter in the North Stand during the second half. Our condolences go to his family.
On the pitch first half goals from Scowcroft and Johnson were added to by Matt Holland towards the end of the second. Star of the show was Martijn Reuser who came off the bench to play like a footballing genius. However, Saturday was a day when football did not take centre stage.
