Bent Spurs Link Again - Ipswich Town News

This weekend's papers again link Marcus Bent with a move to Spurs, this time for £6 million. The striker's agent is reported to have said the ex-Blackburn man is keen for a quick return to the Premiership, although he says he is still committed to Town.

Two weeks ago Glenn Hoddle said that he rated the 23-year-old striker highly: "He's a good young player who has done reasonably well. There is nothing happening at the moment but he is a player we have been monitoring."

David Sheepshanks is understood to have told Bent's agent, Charlie Burt, that he doesn't want to sell his player, bought for £3 million from Blackburn in November. However, with Town needing to bring in money to make up the shortfall caused by relegation, every player has his price.

It would though, be unlikely that Town would sell both Bent and Marcus Stewart who may be Sunderland-bound.
