Lankester on Target Again But U18s Lose at Cardiff - Ipswich Town News
Striker Jack Lankester hit his fourth goal in eight days but couldn’t prevent Town’s U18s from falling to a 2-1 defeat to Cardiff at the Leckwith International Stadium this morning.
Lankester, who netted one of Town’s goals in last week’s 2-2 draw at Millwall and then a brace in the 2-1 FA Youth Cup victory over Dagenham and Redbridge on Tuesday, came off the bench to equalise for the Blues in the 83rd minute.
Laurence Wootton had put Cardiff ahead on 12 and Sam Bowen struck in the 89th minute to win it for the home side at the last.
