Blanchfield Returns From Shots - Ipswich Town News
Blues youngster James Blanchfield has returned from his loan at Aldershot after suffering an ankle injury.
Southend-born midfielder Blanchfield, 20, joined the Shots a month ago and made one sub appearance for the Vanarama National League side.
"He's gone back to Ipswich. He rolled his ankle on Thursday in training," manager Gary Waddock told Get Surrey.
Waddock has also dismissed having an interest in Blues striker Ben Morris, despite Town manager Mick McCarthy having said the former England U18 international had caught his eye while watching him score twice as the U23s defeated QPR 3-0 at Playford Road last week.
"I've got enough strikers as it is,” Waddock, a former Ireland and Millwall team-mate of McCarthy’s, added. "I don't need another striker.”
Meanwhile, Blues defender George Fowler was named Aldershot’s Player of the Month for December.
Fowler, 20, has now made 18 appearances for the Hampshire side having joined them in August.
