Blackburn or Nottingham Forest Await Blues or Tangerines in FA Youth Cup - Ipswich Town News
Town’s U18s will play Blackburn Rovers or Nottingham Forest away in the sixth round of the FA Youth Cup if they beat Blackpool in their fifth round tie at Portman Road on Tuesday evening (KO 7pm).
The draw for the sixth round and semi-finals were made today. If the Blues come through the fifth and sixth round stages they will meet Colchester, Reading, Middlesbrough or Arsenal away in the semi-finals.
Sixth round ties must be played by Saturday 3rd March and semi-finals by Saturday 7th April.
The side coached by Alan Lee and Geraint Williams beat Everton away in the third round and Dagenham and Redbridge at home in round four, both games ending 2-1.
Town have won the FA Youth Cup on three occasions, in 1973, 1975 and most recently in 2005.
Meanwhile, the Blues youngsters are in action at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday morning in the Professional Development League Two South (KO 11.30am).
