Cotter Set for First Blues Appearance for U23s at Colchester - Ipswich Town News
Deadline day signing Barry Cotter is set to make his first appearance in a Blues shirt this afternoon when Town’s U23s take on Colchester United at their Florence Park training ground (KO 1pm).
Right-back, midfielder or central defender Cotter, 19, completed his move from League of Ireland Limerick on Wednesday for a fee understood to be around £70,000 and signed a deal which runs to 2021 with the club understood to have the usual option for a further year.
French centre-half Chris Goteni, another January recruit is also set to feature for Gerard Nash’s team, along with a third transfer window addition, Aaron Drinan, as well as Tristan Nydam and Ben Morris.
Colchester's team will include winger Brennan Dickenson, who was a Town target in January 2017 but has been out since April due to a cruciate knee ligament injury.
