Nydam in U23s Side Facing Charlton - Ipswich Town News

Tristan Nydam, Aaron Drinan, Ben Morris and Ben Folami are set to feature when Town’s U23s face Charlton Athletic at Playford Road this afternoon (KO 1pm).

Gerard Nash’s side, currently second in the Professional Development League Two South table behind Crystal Palace by eight points but with two games in hand on the Eagles, will be out to return to winning ways having been defeated 5-2 at Colchester in their previous match.

The Blues’ youngsters are in action again on Thursday (KO 7pm) when they take on Aston Villa at Hednesford Town’s Keys Park in the Premier League Cup tie which was postponed last week due to snow.

Meanwhile, Town’s U18s’ poor run of form continued on Saturday as they were beaten 4-0 by their Addicks counterparts at Playford Road.

Elsewhere, Blues academy schoolboy Ben Knight, 15, started and scored the opening goal as England’s U16s beat Spain 2-0 in a UEFA Development Tournament at St George’s Park on Friday.

The England youngsters, who also beat Denmark 2-0 in their previous game, face Scotland in their final match today.
