Bent to Face Germans - Ipswich Town News

Darren Bent is likely to line-up against the Germans again this summer when England face them at the European U19s Championships. English manager Martin Hunter was at the Ullevaal Stadium in Norway yesterday to see Liverpool's John Arne Riise make the draw.

England will face Belgium and holders the Republic of Ireland as well as the Germans, who they beat 3-1 at Portman Road in February, Bent scoring twice.

The competition, held in Norway, begins on July 21st with England's first game against Germany a day later.

Bent, who signed a new deal at Town yesterday, will expect to be in the squad after scoring three goals in three games for Hunter's side, while Matt Bloomfield will also hope to be included.

Darren Ambrose may also get a call after having an impressive season for the Blues' U19s and reserves, as well as making his debut for the first team.
