Five Changes for Town Against Cardiff - Ipswich Town News

Boss Mick McCarthy makes five changes - some of them enforced - as the Blues face Cardiff City at Portman Road.

Joe Garner and David McGoldrick miss out through injury, while Martyn Waghorn, a virtual ever-present since the early days of the season, drops to the bench.

McCarthy sticks with the three-man backline of Cameron Carter-Vickers, skipper Luke Chambers and Adam Webster with Jordan Spence returning at right wing-back for Dominic Iorfa, who is a sub. Jonas Knudsen continues on the left.

Cole Skuse is joined by Luke Hyam, making his first league start since May 2016, and Grant Ward in midfield with Callum Connolly and Stephen Gleeson on the bench. Mustapha Carayol was a late withdrawal due to illness.

Up front, Bersant Celina is likely to be behind Freddie Sears. For Cardiff, ex-Blues keeper Brian Murphy is among their subs.

Town: Bialkowski, Spence, Chambers (c), Webster, Carter-Vickers, Knudsen, Ward, Skuse, Hyam, Celina, Sears. Unused: M Crowe, Waghorn, Bru, Kenlock, Gleeson, Iorfa, Connolly.

""Cardiff: Etheridge, Morrison (c), Manga, Ralls, Zohore, Bamba, Connolly, Mendez-Laing, Damour, Grujic, Hoilett. Unused: Murphy, Feeney, Pilkington, Halford, Bryson, Wildschut, Madine. Referee: Andy Davies (Hampshire).
