Finidi Interest - Sheepy - Ipswich Town News
Town chairman David Sheepshanks has revealed that the club has had "considerable interest" in Nigerian midfielder Finidi George. The ex-Ajax man looks to be one of the more likely players to be on his way this summer with his wages amongst the highest at Portman Road.
Sheepshanks says that interest in the experienced international comes from the continent. The former Nigerian midfielder has previously had spells with Real Mallorca and Real Betis in Spain, as well as his time in Holland with Ajax.
The only club to be linked with the winger so far is Atletico Madrid. Reports in Spain said they were looking to strengthen after being promoted to the top division.
Town brought Finidi to England for £3 million just prior to last season, but overall he was a disappointment.
