U23s Defeated By Villa - Ipswich Town News

A young Town U23s side were beaten 3-0 by Aston Villa in the Premier League Cup at Hednesford Town’s Keys Park earlier this evening.

Harvey Knibbs, Colin Odutayo and Jacob Ramsey scored the goals for the Midlanders, who now top the four-team group and go through to the knock-out stages.

Town are currently third and have only a slim chance of reaching the next phase if they beat West Brom in their final group game at Portman Road on Monday night (now KO 2pm).

They also require Villa to beat Sheffield United in the other fixture earlier that afternoon and a five-goal turnaround.

U23s: Ware, El Mizouni, Clements, Blanchfield, Cotter, Goteni, McLoughlin, Sagaf, Lankester, Folami, D Crowe.
