PDP Courses for Kids in Easter Holidays - Ipswich Town News

Town's Player Development Programme (PDP) is holding courses for children during the Easter holidays at Portman Road.

Mini-Kickers is for boys and girls aged five to six years and just discovering the wonders of football. The coach will take them through some of the most well-known skills, along with the techniques to improve their overall game.

Fun challenges and small-sided games complete the day with a participation memento for all. The day includes a stadium tour and is priced at £18 per player. The course runs on Monday 9th April and Thursday 12th April (10am to 1pm).

For boys and girls aged between seven to 14 years who want to become the next Bartosz Bialkowski, David De Gea or Thibaut Courtois there is the goalkeeping course where they can learn the techniques of the top keepers in fast-paced, dynamic sessions. The day includes a stadium tour and is priced at £35 per player. The course runs on Friday 6th April 2018 10am to 4pm.

The one-day challenge - Wednesday 4th April and Thursday 12th April 2018 (10am to 4pm) - is for boys and girls aged seven to 11 years, a fun day of challenges finishing with small-sided games to apply the techniques learnt.

The challenges will use a speed gun, there’ll be the chance to learn and practice freekick technique and enhance passing, dribbling and shooting skills. The day includes a stadium tour and costs £35 per player.

For the goalkeeping and one-day challenge courses a drop off and pick up service is being offered. Drop off between 8.15 to 9am is £5, pick up between 4.30 to 5.30pm is also £5.

Players could be offered a trial with the Player Development Programme or the Elite squad if the club’s coaches feel that the player meets the standards of either programme.
